Our hotel in Rome

Here are some pictures of our room in Rome. Not sure why I took so many pictures of the bathroom.

There was a clothes line in the shower.  Here, I am demonstrating its use.

The shower only had one door.  Not sure why.  Water got everywhere.

There was a telephone in the bathroom.  For emergencies?  Also, every room we stayed in had a bidet.  I'm not really sure what a bidet is used for.  But apparently they are very important.  The presence of the bidet led me to believe that the Italians are very serious about hygiene, which I assumed meant they were serious about the cleanliness of their bathrooms, even the public bathrooms. Be warned: this is not the case.

So here are the blinds.  It looks like plenty of light is coming through, right?  But these are mechanical blinds.  And when you close them, they are very, very closed.

Instead of windows, these were actually doors.  You opened them...

...and then opened the mechanical blinds...

...and opened them some more to reveal the lovely little balcony!

With a lovely little view.

Hey!  That's ITALY out there!  Sweet!
