I love fall. Love it. Love it more in Philly than I ever did in Texas. (Did I just say that? I'm so sorry, Texas, I didn't mean to. It's just, well, one thing led to another and the next thing I know, I sorta like Philly in the fall.)
I love the clothes of fall. I love the colors of fall. I love the cool brisk evenings of fall.
I love sleeping with the windows open and cuddling under the blankets.
I love kicking leaves up in the air as we walk the dogs.
It's not fall yet. But it's getting close. And I'm pretty excited.
In other news: I officially offered doula services to a pregnant mom at church. She knows I've never done it before, that I'm not certified, that I've never attended a birth, basically that all I know is what I have read in books and seen in The Business of Being Born.
But maybe I'll be better than no one?
She hasn't said yes yet, and it's fine if she doesn't. I've still taken the first step. And that's win!
More other news: My poor little dog Dylan has the itchies. I don't really know what he has, but about once a year, he starts itching. He ends up nibbling his entire belly just raw. So I have started to give him Benadryl twice a day. It helps with the itching but also makes him a little droopy. (It knocks me on my butt. Hard.)
A little more news: Did I mention I love fall? When it's fall, I'll get to wear my pumpkin orange corderoy jacket that I got at the Penn Move Out sale for $5. Yes, that's right, an orange, lined, corderoy jacket for $5. Yes, I'm bragging. But it's cuz I'm proud of it!
Last thing: Jeff and I decided we're going to celebrate Autumn (our dog) on her namesake day, the Autumnal Equinox! Scrabbled eggs for everyone! Woo!
