This was Wednesday during the day. You can see where the sidewalk got shoveled after the last snow, but you can also see it's starting to get covered up again. Anyway, the first few pics are of my car as the storm and clean-up progressed.
This was Wednesday night.
Thursday morning
Thursday after the first major attempt at digging out. (The second attempt hasn't occurred yet. And perhaps I'm being optimistic in assuming that it will.)
Here's my car from another angle - Wednesday night.
After phase one of the dig out on Thursday morning.
Our sidewalk again - Wednesday night
Our sidewalk - Thursday morning
The short-legged blurry monster in the backyard.
The dogs made a little jug handle they could use for turning around and coming back to the door. The snow is higher than Dylan, but also, he hasn't sunk all the way to the ground because the snow is packed down. There are several inches of snow beneath him.
This doesn't look that impressive until you realize that his back feet are on the second step. You can't see the bottom step and you can't see the ground.
Here's an icicle hanging off our house.
Here's a GIANT icicle hanging off the neighbors house.

Parking is a big deal in Philly. When it snows and you dig your car out, it's TOTALLY UNCOOL if someone comes along and parks in your spot while you are gone. So it's kind of understood that you only park in spots that you dug out. But that's doesn't keep people from being protective of their spots. So lots of people put chairs in their spots while they are gone. This neighbor put a chair in their spot after digging out after last weekend's storm. And now they have a big snowy chair.
This is just to give an idea of how deep you have to dig down to get to the sidewalk. And yes, you really do need to shovel your sidewalks. There's a lot of pedestrian traffic in Philly, so sidewalks gets used a lot. And there's always the fear that someone will fall on your sidewalk because you didn't shovel it and then sue you. I haven't heard of it happening, but everyone seems to be afraid of it.
Sure was a beautiful sky.
